A lineup of heavy-hitters in the affiliate marketing industry is being featured in upcoming broadcasts of Affiliate Marketing Insider on Jan. 28, 2008, a new Internet radio show being hosted by PartnerCentric President Linda Woods on WebmasterRadio.fm. Affiliate Marketing Insider is broadcast at noon Pacific (3 p.m. Eastern) each Thursday. The show's debut on Jan. 24 featured a conversation about emerging trends with Chris Henger, Vice President of Affiliate Marketing for DoubleClicks/Performics. The 30-minute show was the first in a two-parter to be concluded on Jan. 31.

Yahoo Lifecasting

Earlier this month, Jerry Yang introduced Yahoo’s pending social-mail integration as “Yahoo Life” (though the company later clarified that the product was, in fact, nameless).

But it looks like they’ll make sure the name, or something like unto it, goes to good use. Valleywag reports that Yahoo will launch a new “lifecasting” service called Yahoo Live.read more

OSHA seeks $192,000 in fines against Attleboro plant

ATTLEBORO â“ The Mantrose-Haeuser Co. Inc. faces proposed fines of $192,000 for 29 violations of health and safety standards at its 113 Olive St. plant, where a worker lost his hand in an industrial accident this summer, according to the U.S. Department of Laborâ™s Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The company plans to challenge some findings, according to plant manager Brian Terando, who added: âśWe have been meeting and fully cooperating with OSHA throughout its review of our operations.âť

Pro Staff shutters its New England offices

Increased loan-loss provisions cut Wash Trust profit

Washington Trust Bancorp, parent of The Washington Trust Co., saw its 2007 profit decline 4.9 percent to $25.03 million as it set aside more than 50 percent greater provisions for loan losses.

U.S. builders start fewer new homes in December

WASHINGTON U.S. builders broke ground on fewer residential projects last month than the month before, and sought fewer permits for future construction, according to the joint report issued today by the U.S. Census Bureau and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban development. In all of 2007, builders broke ground on an estimated 1.354 million units of housing nationwide, 24.8 percent fewer than in 2006.
