Webster 1Q profit falls 30.5% to $279.85M

WATERBURY, Conn. – Webster Bank parent Webster Financial Corp. (NYSE: WBS) posted a first-quarter profit of $24.37 million, a year-over-year decrease of 30.46 percent, on revenue that fell 5.47 percent to $279.85 million.
