Fed OKs Santander purchase of Sovereign Bank

WASHINGTON – The Federal Reserve Board has issued an order granting approval to Banco Santander SA for its pending acquisition of Wyomissing, Pa.-based Sovereign Bancorp Inc. (NYSE: SOV).
