R.I. Foundation sets grant record
PROVIDENCE – Despite record unemployment and a worsening economy, The Rhode Island Foundation this year awarded $27 million in grants, the most in the 93-year-old organization’s history. And it recorded more than $40 million in donor contributions, also a record, thanks to donors President and CEO Neil D. Steinberg called “wonderfully generous.”
