Supreme Court justice halts shutdown
PROVIDENCE – R.I. Supreme Court Justice Maureen McKenna Goldberg sided with the state’s largest public employees union this afternoon, halting Gov. Donald L. Carcieri’s plan to shut down government until the full court can consider the issue.
